Botox bottles contain three main ingredients: botulinum toxin type A, human albumin and sodium chloride. The active ingredient, which has the greatest effect, is botulinum A toxin.

When injected into a muscle, Botox blocks the nerves that cause certain muscles to contract. Muscles cannot move, and this reduces the appearance of wrinkles.

Eye Bags Can Look Worse When Treated With Filler

Botox can reduce wrinkles only in the moving parts of the face. Doctors will often use it on frown lines between the eyebrows, called glabellar lines, and forehead lines, as well as on crow’s feet on the sides of the eyes.

Botox is not a permanent solution to wrinkles. In 3-6 months, it will stop blocking the nerves, and the muscles will begin to contract. A person will need more injections to maintain the effect.

Botox has emerged as a treatment for many medical conditions, from migraines to excessive urination.

Injecting Botox to treat bags or dark circles under the eyes is an off-label use in the US, and the FDA has not yet approved it.

For this reason, researchers have conducted few studies on this use, and doctors are not sure how effective it is.

Since 2003 he wanted to find out if Botox injections under the eyes and cheeks could reduce the appearance of wrinkles in these areas. Nineteen participants were given an injection. Those who had them in the lower eyebrow area and cigarette butts tended to report better results than those who received injections in their lower eyes.

These results show that Botox injections can make the lower eyelid appear fuller and plumper, helping to reduce anxiety and depression.

The researchers also measured the effects of different types of Botox on the lower eyelid. Patients have very strong results when they receive 8 units of Botox, but they have very poor results.

Botox costs vary by region and specialist. The Botox recipient not only pays for the medicine, but also the driver’s time, office space and other equipment used.

According to the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, the average cost of Botox injections ranges from $200 to $1,400 in the US. The price varies, depending on where the clinic is located.

One can ask for a price estimate before ordering Botox injections. The seller should also provide a reasonable estimate of how Botox will be used and how long the injections will last.

Because the FDA has not yet approved Botox for injections under the eyes, extensive research on the safety of use is lacking.

How Long Do Under Eye Fillers Last?

People with certain chronic conditions should not receive Botox injections. These conditions include amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly called Lou Gehrig’s disease, and myasthenia gravis and related Lambert-Eaton disease.

First, a person should examine their daily habits to see if they can contribute to bags and wrinkles under the eyes. The following strategies may help:

Certain creams can help moisturize and smooth the skin under the eyes. For example, if a person is worried about eye swelling, they can try using an eye cream with caffeine. Manufacturers add caffeine because it can help tighten the skin and reduce puffiness. If dark circles are a concern, creams designed specifically for the under-eye area can help.

Under Eye Filler For Tired Looking Eyes

Some people use fillers to add volume to the under eye area. These include injections that can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and dark shadows on the face.

Laser therapy is another option. This treatment stimulates the growth of collagen in the skin, making it appear firmer. However, laser treatment can be very expensive, often costing thousands of dollars at a time.

Botox injection under the eyes is not an approved use. Botox aims to reduce the appearance of wrinkles in areas where there is significant muscle movement. It may be less effective when used under the eyes than on the forehead, for example.

One should thoroughly discuss the treatment, risks, and benefits with an experienced physician before receiving Botox injections under the eyes.
