If this car were a little more broken down, we’d say ditch the four-pot for a cheap 383ci stroker small-block and run 11-second miles all day, but this one is pretty cool. Nice paint, nice interior, working original engine, no dents – good news for a few days with this miniature. (A DOHC four-cylinder engine can fetch some money on eBay if you decide to go big.) The Vega (and later-year Monzas) are the lightest vehicles to host a V-8 with a small block. As we’ve shown here and here , a tire-shredding monster can easily be built for very little money.

If we face reality, true blue muscle cars are like the early Chevelles of the stratosphere. The seller of this 1966 Chevy Malibu knows this and says, “This is a seller’s market, and that’s a very reasonable price for a chance to win one of the best ’60s cars ever made!” (And unfortunately, the seller’s bragging claim is true.) The bad news is that this Malibu is stripped down to the bare bones without an interior, engine, or transmission. The doors are also blown off. The good news: You can do whatever you want with it, and the seller has done a lot of work stripping it down to the studs for your easy inspection. It also has a useful 10-bolt rear. Since every part you need to restore a 1966 Chevelle is available at places like NPD and Original Parts Group, you don’t have to worry too much about finding parts. Need some inspiration? Those who follow me know that I’m a fan of GM A-bodies from 1973 to 1977, and this 1973 Chevy Chevy Malibu today is no different. There’s something sexy about the colonnade-style Chevelle’s silhouette that screams hot rod, so if you’re looking for one of the famous heavy Chevys, this fix-it project would be a good place to start. The seller says the 350ci small-block is fine, the transistors need work, and the floors have been replaced, and we understand it’s low mileage. It’s one of those shops where the body looks worse than it is (Modesto, California, where it’s located, has perfect vintage car climate), so if you don’t mind roadkill-style, it’s a sweet ride. Classic trucks have been a thing for a while, and as project cars have gotten more and more expensive, buyers have had to seriously consider some of the less desirable models—namely, those with long cargo beds and six-cylinder engines. Fortunately, our friends at Street Outlaws have popularized the LWB 1967-to-1972 Chevy C-10 here with the popular 1970 Chevy C-10 Farmtruck (they took advantage of the LWB’s better weight transfer at launch). You can save some face by grabbing this 1967 LWB farm truck here, and it’s painted the exact same color. With a buy-it-now price of $5,500, this genuine farm truck looks like it’s been working on a North Dakota farm since day one, giving it a hard-earned patina. We wouldn’t hesitate to keep it as-is and drop in a cheap big-block Chevy rear engine ( here ).

Surprisingly, the Texas-based seller of this short-wheelbase 1968 Ford F-100 has gone to the trouble of dressing it up with some new NASCAR steel wheels and racing slicks, giving it its own motivation for a serious pro-touring build. However, at a cost of $7,500, you have to supply all the chassis, suspension, brakes and drivetrain components yourself. Still, this Ford truck’s profile and stance look nice unsupported, and it already has a 390ci FE big-block underneath, so your only job is to test the clutch by burning out on fresh racing tires.
