Almost every woman I know wants to learn how to lose thigh fat… and almost all the blog posts and thigh exercises I find online are garbage. As a thigh fat loser (40 pounds total), turned fitness pro, I want to show you how you can do it too.

How To Reduce Thigh Fat Effectively

Lie on your back with your hands on your back. Begin by pointing with the left foot as if stretching your toes towards the ceiling. Start the alphabet on the ceiling with your toes, move your whole leg but keep your hips still. Do not lift your left hip off the floor. Continue following the alphabet until you reach the end of the letter ‘Z’. You can do small print or letters…  prints or letters – it doesn’t matter. When you’re done, turn the legs over and repeat the alphabet on the other side to complete a set. Take a break if needed!

Stand with your feet slightly wider than shoulder width apart and your toes pointed. Keep your abs tight and inhale as you lower your load down, keeping your upper body straight. Lower until your neck is in line with your knees, then inhale and press back to the starting position to complete one repetition. You can hold weights (as pictured) or just use weights. Do as many as you can until you feel the burn… once you feel the burn, do 5 more to complete a set.

Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Push and bring your left leg back and behind your right leg as you lower down in the “up” movement, making sure your knee doesn’t go over your toes. Wake up when you return to the starting position. Repeat the same movement on the opposite side, crossing your right leg behind and behind your left leg. Do as many as you can until you feel the burn… once you feel the burn, do 5 more to complete a set.

Stand on your hands and knees with your hands and feet shoulder-width apart. Stretch your legs through your toes. Keep your core strong and in one fluid motion, lift your leg back and up across your body with a slight kick at the end, then immediately return to the starting position. Do as many as you can until you feel the burn… once you feel the burn, do 5 more to complete a set. Repeat the same number on each leg to complete your bag.

Exercises That Get Rid Of Lower Belly Fat

You can do leg raises lying on your back, from the side (full in and out), from a table position, or standing up. Bend your legs up and down with pointed and arched toes. Do as many as you can until you feel the burn, then start counting from 10 (for beginners) to 30+… or as many as you can while maintaining proper form. Do the same number of repetitions on both legs to complete your set.

Lie on the floor with your hands down, palms down and legs extended. Point your toes and lift your feet about 6 inches off the floor. Quickly open and close your legs, crossing your right thigh over your left, and repeat the movement. “Cut your feet” as you raise and lower and then lower about 6 inches off the floor without touching the floor. Continue leg curls until you feel the burn… once you feel the burn, do 5 more to complete a set.

Lie on your back on the mat with your arms at your sides and palms down. Begin by placing a stability ball between your feet, holding it in place with your ankles and knees together. Extend the ball straight as shown in the picture. Get up and start rolling the ball in a circle while keeping your hips. Only your ankles should move the ball and your core should be tight to help control the movement. Do not lift your hips off the floor. Do as many as you can until you feel the burn… once you feel the burn, do 5 more to complete a set.

This is one of my all time favorite exercises because it targets your inner and outer thighs, hamstrings and glutes. Stand with your feet hip-width apart and toes pointed. Place your hands in the center of your heart. Lower your hips to match your knees and push your knees back. Hold it for just a few seconds, pull your shoulders back from your hips and pull the crown of your head toward the ceiling. Bend your legs and squeeze your glutes at the top. Do 10 reps and pulse 10 times
