How Do You Know Your Not Pregnant – According to the Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction, infertility appears to affect about 10-14 percent of the Indian population.
Radha Jain, 27, and her husband Raghavan Jain, 29, had been trying to conceive for some time and wondered what could be the possible reason for not conceiving when everything was fine.
How Do You Know Your Not Pregnant
After months of negative pregnancy results, the couple slowly lost hope. After trying for 8 months, it is hard for them to visit their friends who have children.
Clear Blue Is This A Positive ?
On the recommendation of close friends, the couple decided to consult Dr. Preeti Arora Dhamija, a fertility specialist at Sitaram Bharatiya Hospital in South Delhi.
Dr. Preeti listened to their plight and took a detailed medical history, asking about their lifestyles, work hours and whether they were able to spend enough time with each other.
After answering the questions, Radha hesitantly asked the doctor, “Why am I not getting pregnant? Is it normal not to get pregnant right away?”
The doctor reassured her and replied, “Even a healthy couple can take up to a year to conceive, so don’t let failed attempts discourage you.”
What To Know About Pregnancy, Childbirth, And Your Pelvic Floor
“Falling in love depends on many factors, including age, general well-being, reproductive health and how long you’ve been trying to conceive.”
According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), here are some situations in which you should consider a fertility evaluation:
Radha’s menstrual cycle was regular, both couples were young, passionate and had been trying regularly for the past 8 months to conceive without any reproductive problems. They felt much calmer when they heard that there was nothing to worry about.
Radha was still curious about the possible reasons for not getting pregnant when everything was normal and asked the doctor the same.

Dr. Priti explained, “Unhealthy lifestyle, weight problems, high stress and confusion about fertile period can be possible reasons for not getting pregnant.”
The doctor emphasizes: “If you have a disturbed sleep pattern, unhealthy eating habits or don’t have a way to deal with stress, it can affect your chances of getting pregnant.”
Radha was always aware that she and her husband weren’t living the healthiest of lives, but knowing that it could affect their chances of conceiving was a real wake-up call for her.
He continues: “It’s ideal for women to be in the appropriate BMI range and maintain a proper waist-to-hip ratio. Men should also maintain a healthy weight, as this also affects their sperm quality.”

Try to exercise for 30 minutes at least 3-4 times a week to maintain a healthy weight.
Stress, anxiety and depression affect fertility and the menstrual cycle. Even in men, stress is known to be a major factor contributing to low sperm count or poor sperm motility.
Dr. Preeti advises, “Reduce stress, as high stress can negatively affect your libido and fertility. Try activities like couples’ spa and massage, deep breathing exercises, meditation and yoga.”
Hearing this, Radha’s decision to enroll them in couple yoga became even stronger. He was determined to schedule their meeting as soon as they left the hospital.
Should You Take A Pregnancy Test Before You Miss A Period?
Dr. Preeti further explains to the couple, “Ovulation is the time when your mature egg is released into the fallopian tubes for possible fertilization. Remember to calculate your ovulation period correctly and try accordingly as this is a critical step in trying to conceive.”
Ask your doctor to help you calculate your ovulation cycle based on your menstrual cycle or get an ovulation test kit.

Lubricants can adversely affect the motility and quality of men’s sperm and thus be an obstacle to the fertilization process. You should leave out lubricants or try ones suitable for fertility.
What Does A Positive Pregnancy Test Strip Look Like?
The couple was advised to continue trying for another six months while maintaining their young age and without any obvious symptoms or concerns.
Unfortunately, they were still unable to conceive and decided to contact Dr. Preet, who in their consultation discussed the possible causes and explained that they could only determine the causes by doing a basic fertility evaluation.
During the consultation, Dr. Preeti discussed the most common reasons why she does not get pregnant after trying for a while.
Dr. Preeti explains, “It is possible that a woman has an ovulatory disorder due to a disturbed hormonal environment or poor ovarian reserve. This may or may not lead to subtle menstrual irregularities. The normal development of the egg or its rupture may be disturbed.”
Weeks Pregnant: It’s Time To Test Yay! Or Nay!
“To understand the egg-making process in your body, your doctor may suggest a follicle-monitoring ultrasound that takes place on different days of your menstrual cycle.”
The infertility expert emphasized, “Sperm can have subtle abnormalities, such as low sperm count and/or motility, that can cause failure to conceive.”
The doctor continues: “In women who have had a pelvic surgery or appendectomy, the tubes can become silently blocked. In such cases, in order for them to become pregnant, the tubes must be open and functional.”
Tests such as Hysterosalpingogram (HSG), which is an OPD procedure, may be recommended to assess the health of the fallopian tubes and uterus.
Can You Get Pregnant On The Implant (nexplanon)?
Sometimes a woman’s uterus can have defects that can interfere with the embryo’s ability to implant and grow.
Dr. Preeti explains: “Abnormalities of the uterus, such as scar tissue, the presence of micropolyps or even the shape of the cavity, can affect conception. Sometimes there can be irregularities in the formation and shedding of the lining during the menstrual cycle, which can be an obstacle to a smooth conception.”
A pelvic ultrasound may be needed to detect conditions, and a small day care procedure called a hysteroscopy may be needed to treat some of these structural problems in the uterus.
Sometimes there can be unknown diseases, such as endometriosis, which can appear later in life or be seen as “normal”.
Faint Line On A Pregnancy Test: What Does It Mean?
Dr. Preeti emphasizes, “In these cases, women may experience severe pain before or during their periods, which can worsen overtime. This may be a sign of underlying endometriosis and requires appropriate treatment.”
When the test results came back normal, some more advanced tests were recommended for Radha and Raghavan. Advanced fertility evaluation revealed no cause for concern and unexplained infertility is suspected.
“Sometimes couples may have unknown fertility problems, and a few times there may not be a concrete reason behind it.”
Dr. Preeti replied, “When there are no obvious reasons why a couple cannot conceive, it is known as unexplained infertility. The couple’s fertility tests also turn out to be normal in such a situation.”
Things To Do As Soon As You Know You’re Pregnant
The doctor suggested a conservative method called IUI, which improves the number or quality of available eggs with prescribed drugs and uses purified sperm, which can help solve some problems.
While waiting for her appointment, Radha says, “I won’t lie – it wasn’t easy, but having my husband with me and us both together made us stronger than ever! We didn’t lose hope thanks to the team of doctors who supported and supported.”
Towards the end, Raghavan said, “We had to be more patient and persevere despite many obstacles.”

Whenever you think of some of the most common pregnancy symptoms, morning sickness, breast tenderness, and appetite are the first things that come to mind, right? But did you know that these are not the only symptoms of pregnancy and that pregnancy symptoms can vary greatly in duration and intensity between different women? What’s more interesting is that these symptoms can vary greatly from pregnancy to pregnancy in a person!
While it is a fact that many women experience these common or “typical” pregnancy symptoms during pregnancy, it is not uncommon for you to have no symptoms during pregnancy. This post discusses whether typical pregnancy symptoms are a sign of a healthy pregnancy and whether you should be concerned if you don’t have them.
Your pregnancy is divided into three trimesters, each lasting about three months. For most pregnant women, symptoms begin to appear during the first trimester. Some common signs you may experience during this time include fatigue, morning sickness, tender breasts, and increased sensitivity to smell. Many women may feel like throwing up when thinking about something with a stronger smell, such as fish or boiled eggs. For some women, these symptoms can start quite early in pregnancy, as early as five to six weeks after the last period.
