To clear a bad memory, try to avoid places or situations that remind you of an unpleasant period in your life. If you can’t help being triggered by memories, try reframing how you think about it. We all have memories from our childhood, school years, high school prom, first marriage, first baby, etc. they have memories. I’d like to think most of us have good memories, but that’s not the case in the real world. Not all of us have had lives filled with roses and lollipops and sunshine.
And then we have the memories of our first boyfriend/girlfriend, the marriage, the divorce and the divorce battle. Memories of betrayal and infidelity often precede the sweet memories of our lives in our minds. For some reason, we hold onto terrible memories of how Sally or John cheated on us or left us. It isn’t and shouldn’t be. There are easy ways to get rid of terrible memories forever.

We’ve made so many bad decisions in the past that we no longer trust our own judgment. All this causes our minds to spiral out of control. What happens is that we believe we deserve the torture we inflict on ourselves because of the wrong choices we’ve made. We believe that we are not good enough for the good to come into our lives and we hold on to bad memories and perpetuate this bad attitude, thus blocking any chance of something good coming into our lives.
Get Over It. Let It Go. It’s In The Past.
It is important to remember that staying in a negative mindset or constantly reliving all the bad things that happened will not get you closer to living a happy life. When you stay in the past and keep bringing up all those old wounds, all you do is invite more sadness and terrible things to happen.
