Editor’s note: During Teacher Appreciation Week, we’re highlighting how Google supports teachers, and today we’re announcing six improvements to Google Forms. Help teachers save time. Stay tuned and follow along on Twitter throughout the week to see how we’re celebrating.
In the two years since we launched Quizzes on Google Forms, teachers have expanded the tool’s capabilities both inside and outside the classroom. Today, we’re announcing six new features based on valuable feedback from teachers and designed to help teachers continue to use questions in Google Forms in creative ways:
1. Answer suggestions: Using Google’s machine learning, forms can now predict the correct answer as teachers write the questions and also suggest wrong answer options. If you’re taking a US capitals quiz, this new feature predicts all the correct capitals for each state and even throws in a few curve balls like Charlotte Amalie and San Juan.

2. Autofill Answers: Machine learning helps teachers save time with more predictive analytics. After typing an answer, the form will now suggest related answers. For example, if a question requires days of the week as an answer option, Google Forms will auto-fill the rest of the answers. Additionally, the feature is now available in 14 languages, including Spanish, French, Chinese, German, and Arabic. Chris Webb of John Rennie in Montreal says, “I like this feature, it saves a lot of time. It’s great to be able to start printing something and submit forms before the printing is done.” High school math teacher.
3. Automatically Scoring Checkbox and Multiple Choice Grid Questions: Scoring questions can be time-consuming, so we’ve developed a new way to automate the process. Now, in boxed questions and multiple style questions, you can indicate the correct answers in the answer key and completed questions will automatically be scored based on the answers. “Before, it was a lot of repetition for teachers to try to ask these kinds of questions. But this [feature] saves time, collects all the information on one page in a way that’s really smart, and gives teachers full control over grading.” gives,” Webb says.
4. Give Decimal Grades: You can give partial credit to paper questions and now you have the same flexibility in Google Forms. If the answer is partially correct, you can give a half or a quarter point to make the score more accurate. As with all grades in Google Forms, they are added automatically and can be synced with Google Classroom.
5. Enhance learning with YouTube video feedback: You can now provide highly customized feedback to students by attaching videos from YouTube. If a student doesn’t understand a concept or could use additional practice, link them to a YouTube video so they can review the material on their own.

6. Check the total score of a question: Teachers have told us that they like to be able to quickly refer to the total score of a question when they are revising. Now, above the question there is a number of points that will update when you create or edit the question.
This update will be released over the next few weeks. With Google’s machine learning on forms, query creation and ranking is now faster, easier, and more automated and customizable than ever before. We hope these new features give hard-working teachers more time! If you want to ask your students questions but have little time for grading. So you have to say goodbye to your old efficient papers and hello to self-assessment quizzes.

To customize the look of your question, click on a theme and then select the appropriate theme (when you select a template, it will take you to a preview page).
If you want to continue with this template, click Applet in the upper right corner or Cancel if you want to choose another template.
Your form starts with first name, last name, and term/class. Make sure you don’t delete anything from this field as it will affect the score later.
To create your own question, click on the question list, then click on the pencil icon and add your question and select the question type (to use this self-assessment page for a full review question).
How To Schedule Your Google Forms And Limit Submissions
Once you’ve finished creating and testing the question, it’s time to add the answer key.
Then you will find yourself in the table format. Add the answer to the line below the question line. And add the score for this question below the answer bar.
When students answer your question, their answer is automatically recorded. Just look at the score sheet to see their scores. Six hands float calmly in the air. Then you request options ‘B’ and ‘C’, pausing each time to document the results. A joke for all three hands up.
The slide shows whether it is correct or not. These questions take time to define and close the flow of your presentation with limited audience engagement.
Ways Quizzes In Google Forms Are Getting Smarter
This set of quizzes and polls works on Google Slides and your participants’ phones. It is a powerful tool for engaging a live audience. You create questions, audience members respond simultaneously, and the results are updated in Google Slides.
Questions that had to be created manually are now largely automated, allowing you to focus on creating an engaging presentation.
Creating or updating a Google Slides question is a quick snapshot of the activity anywhere in the survey. Listeners answer their peers from the privacy of their mobile devices and the results are displayed live for all to see.
Adding a poll anywhere in Google Slides is simple. The first step is to add the Poll Anywhere extension to Google Slides.
