Whatever you choose, I think you will find it useful. **

The movable eyelid (the flap that opens and closes the eyelid) is invisible and covered by the eyelid (up to the brow bone).

The eye has many levels. If you look directly into the mirror, your eyes will be heavily covered without moving eyelids, so it will be very difficult to draw eyes.

Medium coverage eyes come with several options. You can have all of these options or just one or two…

First, before thinking about the shadow, we want to address the hidden. One of the most common mistakes people make is not using concealer (and even if you do!) under the OUTER corner of the eye. They focus on the dark circles and inner corners and completely forget about the outer part of the eye.

As we age, we develop some redness and discoloration there. If you neglect this small area, it will drag the outer corner and make our already hooded eyes look more droopy.

First. First. I can’t stress enough about using eyeshadow! . If you skipped this step, get started today!!

A common mistake caused by using a neutral shade or loose powder is to spray/move the crease, lid and mask, or use patch lids. Adjust that primate!

Amazing Makeup Tips For Hooded Eyes

If you layer a shade that’s deeper than your skin tone (maybe even peachy or a little pink!) on top of the concealer (up to the brow bone), it will create a shadow on the lid so it’s not as harsh and heavy . The light will rise and the darkness will disappear.

We want the shadow to recede instead of straight out. Even on the smallest of makeup days, I take 30 seconds to do this simple step because it makes all the difference in how awake and open my eyes are.

Back to that paper…if you don’t take the time to set your eyeshadows early, you can have blending issues with the shadow going into your lids and creasing.

Highlighting with a brush and directly under the brow bone (and blending into that transition shade) is what you need to do when squinting. Many people take a round brush and apply too much light under and below the browbones, which takes away the shadow needed to make the lids appear to recede. By highlighting the most prominent part of the lid, it accentuates dull eyes and draws the eye lower.

This is my realistic “don’t do it” eye that I use a pencil to cover my eyes, like most people do. Most people also pencil to the line. It’s not as delicate as the shadow, lasts longer and blends easily. I smudge it along the lash line from the inner corner to the outer corner and extend it slightly from my outer corner…

But if I open it up, you can see that the ruler is slightly bent down, not out, and the ruler has an angle

The outer corner of my eye should be next to or slightly above it. This is a common mistake that lowers the outer corner of the eye and makes the eye look more droopy, especially after adding mascara.

This is the part where I’m going to watch the video, because I’m going to show you two super easy makeup tricks that are super easy to do in a hurry or on a daily basis. I recommend using a good quality eye shadow and an angled brush. I have other simple techniques on my channel using different types of brushes, but this one is quick and easy.

Essential Makeup Tips For Hooded Eyes

Place a small dot or line in the same direction as the lower lash line, as if it continues to infinity. Place that little dot/line right where your lash line ends. This will lift it more than you would on the lash line. (See better in the video).

Then press the lash brush lightly along the lash line. I only do 2/3 of my eye because it lengthens and lifts the eye until it reaches my inner corner. You go straight up and find this point/line and join the two. It takes less than 30 seconds. That’s it!

There are some people who are too fussy about the header/dots, and that’s okay! If this is the case, just tap or squeeze and you’re done.

I continued with a technique (post mask) to show you what to do if you have creases but want to create a fluttery or winged line on your lids.

And then I fill that space and I create that line, and I want my thickness to be that day. This is my “professional” wing. Another 30 seconds and you’re done!

Curl those lashes! Nothing lifts the eyes more than curled lashes! It really makes a big difference! Finding the perfect eyelash curler for your particular eye shape can take a bit of trial and error, but it’s worth it. I’ve tried a bunch and this has been my favorite for over 20 years. I like it too. Other popular ones are too curved to reach the center of my lashes, causing them to press too hard on the corner of my eye.

Again, I recommend watching this video because it has multiple steps and is a little more specific than you can get from a blog post tutorial. I hope you like it. I know it can be so hard to deal with droopy eyes! If you found this post or video helpful, please share it with others who you think could use it or help others. XOXO
