How To See Private Accounts On Twitter
I discovered a bug that allowed anyone to see other people’s private tweets. And it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3.
How To See Sensitive Content On Twitter
During my bug hunting on Twitter, I came across one of their subdomains “https://ads.twitter.com” and that subdomain is for posting ads etc or campaigns on Twitter.
At that time, I tested this subdomain before I got this bug (probably in March). So I understand what this subdomain is used for. I also got “HTML injection and possible XSS using IE” on it which I didn’t see when I tried in March and immediately asked FileScripter for confirmation and reported it on Twitter (fixed and rewarded).
So let’s get back to our topic. While I’m waiting for a response from FileScripter to confirm about ” HTML injection and possible XSS using IE “.
I tried to create “ad groups” just to test if there is another XSS but I didn’t find any XSS vulnerability.
How To Make A Twitter Account Private?

Because of that, it confuses me because there are many reasons that bother my mind like “if it is confirmed and reported by others”. You know that recognition on Twitter or the Hall of Fame is high on the lists of achievements of many bug bounty hunters.
“userId” caught my attention and immediately created another account to test and change the value of the “userId” parameter.
As you can see “@LegacionTesting” and “Cj Legacion Testing” I feel and punch the person next to me.

Then he immediately made a POC video and told Twitter. After his first answer. It’s only 13-15 minutes and it’s fixed (in my reports it was the fastest fix)
Confused about how to do it? So this is my POC video for you so you can understand it clearly.
So how easy is it for someone/attacker to see other’s private tweets. This is how I got my first laptop.
This vulnerability can now be fixed by Twitter, but always remember. Everything is possible. Never underestimate the ability of humans to find any security loopholes.

When I teach Twitter to professionals, businesses and students I always say let’s create a Twitter account. It is unique, so you can practice and understand Twitter “personally” first. This seems to have let go of any tension on Twitter and calmed down. Something to consider. When you have a private account, only your followers can see your tweets and cannot retweet your tweets. So think about it. The good thing is that you can always fall back on having a public Twitter account easily.
