And if you’re like me and can’t really pinpoint what’s going wrong, it’s only going to get worse.
But I decided that in order to make a change, I needed to be able to get a clearer picture of what needed to be changed.
Life, of course, consists of many different domains. Our relationships, our health, our careers and more. In order to have a happy life, we ideally want a balanced life that takes into account all our different needs.

For example, I know I have some good friendships, so I rate it a 7 out of 10. But my love life feels like a mess, so that gives it a 2.
This exercise is great because it helps you look at your life objectively and identify what is really working and what isn’t.
My next step is to try to figure out my priorities and then align my life with them.
Because the funny thing is, the vast majority of us spend a lot of time on things we probably don’t really care about, and not enough time on things we do.

Things You Should Remember When Feeling Lost In Life
We say our well-being is extremely important, but we realize we don’t take the time to develop positive habits that support it.
Creating a top priority list can help you decide where to focus your time and energy.
Self-limiting beliefs are thoughts that limit us from living a fulfilling life. They are usually unconscious and start in childhood.
These are basically negative stories we tell ourselves. But the biggest problem is that if you believe in something, you act on it.

If we think that no one is listening to us, we will not bother to speak. If we think we can’t do anything, we won’t hold out for ourselves. If we are afraid of failure, we will never take risks.
There is no magic way to eliminate self-limiting beliefs overnight. But it does start with a) identifying your own unique self-limiting beliefs) challenging them.
1) Find real-life examples where your negative assumptions were wrong. (eg I would fail a test but you didn’t)
2) Recognize when they arise and consciously replace them with more positive thoughts. (eg “I will never get that job” can be replaced with “I have a lot to offer the employer”)

3) Take positive action despite self-limiting beliefs. (eg I’m not sure I’ll get the job, but I’ll go for it anyway)
I decided it was up to me to gain insight into the life I really wanted, remove the obstacles that were holding me back, and develop the passion I needed to shape the life I wanted.
I know it sounds like a daunting task. And I didn’t do it all alone. I took a free master class on personal power from a shaman named Rudá Iandê.
Mind you, I’m definitely not the type to ever have a shaman (in fact, I actually had to Google what that even meant).

When faced with something new, I changed my expectations for experimentation. I have no goals other than being curious to see what happens.

Whenever I take a step in the right direction, I know that I am creating momentum and feel that life is going in a certain direction.
Make a list of things you’re interested in, or things you’d like to do to improve an area of your life, and do them (without expectations).
It could be applying for a job, starting to learn a new language, planning a trip, joining an online dating agency, taking a fitness class, etc.

I really think that every one of us at some point looks at our life and feels like it’s going nowhere.
One of the most immediate antidotes to that feeling is to remind yourself of what you have. Because everyone has something to be thankful for.
I’m not trying to be super sweet here. But the reality is, there is so much without much. They still manage to live happily ever after. So why can’t we?
If you’re struggling to find gratitude in your life, start looking around. You probably have a lot more than you realize.

We are not beautiful enough, smart enough, healthy enough, successful enough, rich enough.
I don’t know about you, but I guarantee you’ve most likely felt at least one, if not all, of these “not enough” feelings at one point or another.

In our culture, more is always the solution to feeling better. We can finally measure our productivity above all else.
It’s easy to give yourself a long list of things you can start doing today that make you feel like your life is going somewhere.
But there is no point in changing your external circumstances without taking a hard look at how you feel inside and why you feel the way you do.
Because if you don’t feel enough inside, no external change will be enough to satisfy you.

To feel like you’re “somewhere in life”, I think it’s very important for us to ask ourselves, “Where are we going?”
Because you want to make sure your motivation comes from your own desires and not someone else’s.
We can all run from place to place, doing, doing, doing like crazy, and that might just make us feel better. We might say, well, at least I’m on my way.
I guess what I’m getting at is that there’s nothing wrong with goals and accomplishments, but they can never make up for a solid foundation of strong self-esteem and self-love.
