The Best Place To Stay At Disney World

The Best Place To Stay At Disney World – With 26 resorts on Walt Disney World property operated by Disney, there are plenty of options to choose from for all price ranges. It wasn’t easy, but we whittled the list down to our ten favorite resorts, with something for every budget in mind. All Disney resorts include bus, boat or monorail transportation to all four theme parks,  Disney Springs,  Typhoon Lagoon  and  Blizzard Beach, so no matter where you stay, you’re still just a ride away from all the action.

Art of Animation: Perfect for families visiting Walt Disney World Resort with multiple generations and extended family members during the ride, Art of Animation offers suites that keep guests together in four different themed sections: Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid. Each section highlights the animation of its film, including story graphics and themed rooms. The newest resort at Walt Disney World, Art of Animation also features traditional large hotel rooms for smaller families just enjoying the art.

Animal Kingdom Lodge: Animal Kingdom brings you up close and personal with animals you’ll never want to leave. Fortunately, Disney’s Imagineers have built a hotel that ensures you don’t have to leave the animals behind after a day at the park. Animal Kingdom Lodge is built in the shape of a horseshoe with rooms overlooking a 46-hectare savannah of giraffes, zebras, zebras and many other species of free-roaming animals and birds. And the resort itself is one of Disney’s luxury hotels, which means the rooms are beautifully decorated with African art, and there are two inventive cuisine options. Choose Jiko – The Cooking Place, for a more formal dinner, or Boma, a buffet full of flavors from across the African continent. Nearby Sana at Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas offers African dishes with an Indian twist and is well worth the walk.

Best Hotels At Disney World

Contemporari Resort: Most people know the Contemporari as the hotel with the monorail running through it, but this 14-story luxury resort combines a modern aesthetic with luxurious accommodations. While Chef Mickey has character food for kids, California Grill offers the ultimate dining experience while offering great views of the nearby Magic Kingdom fireworks. The rooftop lounge at Bay Lake Tower, Disney’s vacation club at the resort, has some of the best views in Walt Disney World.

Grand Floridian Resort: The grand Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is reminiscent of the Victorian era with intricate, lofty architecture and beautifully appointed accommodations. It’s no coincidence that this resort has its own wedding pavilion on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon, as well as one of the best dining experiences in all of Florida at Victoria & Albert’s. But don’t think this resort isn’t kid-friendly: We’re still in Walt Disney World, and nowhere is that more evident at the Grand Floridian than at My Disney Girl’s Perfectly Princess Tea Party, a tea party filled with Disney princesses. For something a little more unusual, there’s a tea party in Wonderland, hosted by the Mad Hatter and Alice.

Yacht and Beach Club: This hotel is actually two resorts connected by Stormalong Bay (three lagoons with a pirate ship water slide) with two unique but complimentary styles. The Yacht Club is modeled after luxury New England seaside hotels of the 1880s, while the Beach Club is more reminiscent of a New England Beach Cottage. The Yacht Club has fine dining with the Yachtsman Steakhouse, while the Beach Club has a slightly more relaxed atmosphere, with an old-fashioned ice cream shop. Both resorts offer a walk-up to the World Showcase section of Epcot, which is extremely convenient for having an evening meal in one of the pavilions, watching the lighting, then exiting the back while other park-goers make their way to the front exit.

BoardWalk: Walk down BoardWalk Resort’s covered Atlantic-style boardwalk, with cupcakes and carnival games running its length, and you’ll quickly realize there’s more than enough to do at your hotel, let alone the theme parks. In addition to restaurants like Trattoria al Forno and the Flying Fish Cafe, BoardWalk has some of the best adult entertainment in all of Disney World, with Atlantic Dance Nightclub and Jellirolls, a dueling piano bar. Across the lake from the Yacht & Beach Club, BoardWalk also has a convenient walk to Epcot’s World Showcase, as well as boats to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Walt Disney World

Saratoga Springs: Named after one of America’s first vacation destinations, Saratoga Springs, New York, the Disney version recreates the same Victorian style, with cottages lining the streets and horse racing motifs throughout the resort. The on-site full-service spa will relax you before a trip to Disney Springs, accessible by trail or boat, or a quick nine holes at the nearby Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. Since Saratoga Springs is part of the Disney Vacation Club, rooms have kitchenettes or full kitchens, and groceries are available for purchase at the resort store.

Wilderness Lodge: Modeled after Old Faithful Lodge in Yellowstone National Park, Wilderness Lodge even has its own geyser that erupts every hour. Hot springs flow through the lobby, only to flow into the pool like a waterfall. Artist Point offers Pacific Northwest cuisine, while kid-favorite Whispering Canyon Cafe will delight anyone looking to have a little fun with their meal. While typical resort buses take guests to Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, a boat shuttles Magic Kingdom visitors to and from the park from a launch below the pool.

Treehouse Villas: Officially part of the Saratoga Springs Resort, the Treehouse Villas feel very much like their own little oasis, minus the crowds and lines. The treehouses each contain three bedrooms, an open kitchen and two bathrooms, making them perfect for families who want a little more peace on their vacation. Each villa is built on a plinth apart from the rest and surrounded by trees, creating an experience unlike any other on Disney property, with Saratoga Springs’ pool and restaurants nearby when you want to kick back for the fun.

Polynesian Resort: The third resort accessible by monorail (including the Grand Floridian and Contemporary), the Polynesian brings a South Seas feel to Seven Seas Lagoon with tiki decorations and a Spirit of Aloha dinner show, complete with dancing, a fire knife show and an all-you-can-eat you eat on the island. The Polynesian is also one of Disney’s luxury resorts, ensuring that every room is luxurious and comfortable. New bungalows run by the Disney Vacation Club even give families the chance to stay on the water, literally. Guests looking for off-site Walt Disney World hotels can find a variety of great accommodations that offer more travel points redemption options, closer locations to other Orlando tourist destinations, and some even have Walt Disney World amenities. Don’t get me wrong, my family and I prefer on-site resort hotels because of the great benefits, but there are benefits to staying on-site. My family and I have discovered some really great places around VDV that are off site but not far from all the magic!
