In the two years since we launched Quizzes in Google Forms, teachers have expanded the tool’s capabilities inside and outside the classroom. Today, we’re announcing six new features based on valuable teacher feedback and designed to help students continue to use tests creatively in Google Forms:
Use Google Forms To Create A Quiz
1. Quiz answer suggestions: Using Google’s machine learning, forms can now predict the correct answer as the teacher types a question, as well as provide options for incorrect answers. If you take a US capitals pop quiz, this new feature will predict all the correct capitals for each state and even throw in a few curveballs like Charlotte Amalie and San Juan.

2. Autocomplete Answer: Machine learning helps learners save time with more predictive analytics. 3. Auto-grade checkboxes and multiple-choice questions: Grading tests can be time-consuming, so we’ve created a new way to automate the process. Now in checkbox and multiple-choice grid-type questions, you can indicate the correct answers in the answer key, and completed quizzes will be automatically scored based on the answers. “Earlier there was a lot of repetition for teachers trying to ask these kinds of questions. But this [feature] saves time, collects all the information on one sheet, which is really smart, and gives teachers full control over the assessment.
4. Give Decimal Grades: You can give partial credit on a paper test and now you have the same flexibility as Google Forms. If the answer is partially correct, you can give a half or a quarter mark by making the mark more correct. As with all grades in Google Forms, these are added automatically and can be synced with Google Classroom.
5. Improve understanding with YouTube video feedback: Now you can give students highly personalized feedback by adding videos from YouTube. If a student doesn’t understand a concept or could use additional practice, link them to any YouTube video so they can review the material on their own.

6. View Quiz Total Scores: Teachers said they wanted to quickly refer to quiz total scores while editing. There is now a dot at the top of the quiz that updates as you create or edit questions

The easiest way to start creating a form is from the Google Forms app Go to docs.google.com/forms, then choose a template or start a blank form

Google Forms offers many options The floating toolbar on the right side allows you to add more form fields In the menu on the top right, you can change the color scheme of the form, preview the form, use the Submit button to share the form, and other options, including installing add-ons for the form you can access additional options. To quickly fill in the questions in the fields, just press Enter to start adding another one
Title and Description: Title and description fields are automatically added to every form and field – although the description is hidden by default in most cases – and you can add an additional title block anywhere with the Tt key. You can leave the title and description blank for questions, but the main form title must be filled
Short Answer: This field is perfect for asking for small pieces of text: name, email address, price, etc. You get one line of text to answer the question – although your users can really enter as much text as they want
This field includes number, text, length, and regular expression information checks to make sure you get the answer you need. Number validation helps you see a range of values, while text validation is suitable for email addresses or links.

Paragraph: Similar to the short answer field, this text is a long form text field Length and regular expressions are the only data checks available here, so use them when you want detailed feedback or long notes on answers.
Multiple Choice: The default field for new questions in Google Forms, the Multiple Choice option allows you to list options and let users choose one. You can then move to another section of the form or change the answer options based on the answer to avoid bias.
Checkboxes: Like multiple choice, this field allows you to list answers and allow users to select as many as they want. It also includes data validation that allows users to select a certain number of options However, this does not include section skips
Drop-down menu: Want all the answer options in one menu? This field is for you It’s similar to multiple choice fields – with the same section skip and shuffle options – only this time the answers are in the menu. This is useful for keeping your form concise when there are multiple answer options
