I think part of that is because of the weeks I spent all day, inside my apartment, alone. I’m used to being out and about. It actually took me a few hours, but I figured out what worked, what made me happy, and what I think will still make me happy years from now. I looked to others but more for inspiration of what I do or don’t want to do. I have a plan for the next step and with it a renewed enthusiasm for work and other aspects of my life.

I like to call it ‘Free WiFi Wednesday’, whether it’s a Wednesday or not. I turn off the internet on my phone and laptop for a few hours and write a LOT more, which brings me closer to my goal of feeling good at work.

Maybe your goal isn’t to write, maybe it’s to watch a movie without picking up the phone, start a project, or hang out with someone and give them 100%. I promise you, without the internet, you will be much more productive and feel much more connected to whatever you are doing instead of distracted. You will feel better.

Perhaps you need to re-evaluate what you are doing in all aspects of your life and make sure it is in line with the future you want for yourself now, not the a future you wanted two years ago, or even five.

It’s no wonder I feel this way – I’ve spent the last three years dealing with major changes almost every day. I love living in Southsea and my life here, but to sound cheesy, I wasn’t doing anything new, I wasn’t growing and changing – and I enjoy doing that.

I think I just made a big change in my life, or at least took steps towards it. I will reveal all if it is confirmed, but it is very exciting and a complete life changer for me. Things To Do When You’re Bored At Home

Whatever situation you are in at the moment, be it positive or maybe a little negative, know that your life will change soon, for better or for worse.

One of the many things traveling has given me is a strong perspective on the life I lead in England, but it has also shown me the importance of allowing yourself to feel who you are’ n feel it (point 3). If you feel like you’re being left behind, remind yourself of all the ways you’re ahead – and only compare yourself to yourself, not your friends and family . Also, bring a bit of perspective, maybe a bit of schadenfreude, and you’ll soon see things differently.

Life as you know it will change, so it’s important to enjoy this moment in time, whatever it is.

Writing doesn’t have the same effect on everyone, I know that, but writing this on the train back from York made me realize…

I think earlier this month I didn’t feel like I was being challenged or like I was changing. Maybe, despite having so much work and a million things I could do, I was a little bored. I love Southsea, I’m supposed to be here, I’ve got friends, my parents came to see me for a glorious few days, but at work, I’m not challenged creatively and I get too much things I eat I don’t necessarily want to be doing.

I hope it helps. I think it’s totally normal to feel a little left behind sometimes, no matter how far you are. Feeling left out by your friends is terrible, I know the feeling well.
