Throughout our evolutionary history, humans have developed this adaptive fear response to protect us from threats in our environment. For example, a fast heartbeat and tense muscles help us escape from predators. In modern times, fear continues to fulfill an important function. After all, the fight-or-flight response can give you the energy you need to pull through the night and keep your job.
But what happens if you have stressful experiences at work every day? Over time, chronic work pressure can lead to a psychological syndrome called burnout. The warning signs of burnout are extreme fatigue, lethargy and ineffectiveness. Some work-related stressors are closely related to euphoria. Examples are too much work or too little freedom, insufficient pay, lack of community among colleagues, unfairness or lack of respect, and a mismatch between workplace values and personal values.

Prolonged exposure to work-related stressors affects such stressors. Research links elation to symptoms of anxiety and depression. In some cases, this sets the stage for serious mental problems. Chronic stress can interfere with behaviors such as exercise, nutrition and sleep.
Job stress can affect companies or organizations. Burnout reduces work productivity and increases absenteeism and job turnover, and can cause conflict among colleagues, leading to increased stress in the workplace.

I truly believe that meditation and contemplation can greatly reduce stress and anxiety. I am very passionate about this subject and have dedicated a lot of time to the topic of meditation while travelling. After all, most people going to and from work spend a lot of time on public transport. Time that can be used not only professionally, but to improve the quality of our lives.
